These terms apply to the Revision Time web application (the app) which can be found at https://app.revision-time.com. Prior to accessing any services or creating an account, please familiarise yourself with the following terms and conditions. Your use of this service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your data.
These terms and conditions for use are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes to these terms must be handled in courts within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK).
By creating an account within the app, you agree that you are 13 or over, and have reached the minimum age in your jurisdiction. If you have not reached this age, please ask a parent to read over these terms and create an account on your behalf by using their email address. Any breach of terms that are found in this section risk an account's immediate termination and deletion of any related data, as we do not knowingly process the data of users below the minimum age to access this service.
You grant us the right to update these terms and conditions with or without prior notice. We will always notify you via the email linked to your account when we update our terms and conditions or any of our policies. If at any time you do not agree with the updated terms or policies, you may terminate your account with us, free of charge. To do so, simply email contact@revision-time.com, and a member of our team will be happy to assist or respond to any concerns within these terms or other policies, including our privacy policy.
In order to register an account with us, you must comply with the following rules and regulations in order to keep your account, and the accounts of others safe.
Any personal information that you provide to us, including email addresses, must be true, accurate and up-to-date. As a result, we have an email verification process which you must undertake in order to access the app.
Any person or party with access to your account can make changes on your behalf. As a result, you are solely responsible for keeping your password and account details safe. If your account has been accessed without authorisation, please change your password immediately and contact us. Please note that if you lose your password, then we cannot help you to regain access to your account outside of the reset password functionality included within the app. Your password is encrypted and stored on secure servers and as a result, we cannot access your password.
Your account with us is an online service. Therefore, if we discover that you have breached any of our terms and conditions or committed misconduct of any kind, we reserve the right to terminate your account without notice and restrict your access to our services. In such circumstances, any subscriptions that you hold with us will be terminated and you will no longer be billed, but no refunds will be given for credit purchases or remaining time on the subscription.
The app contains some features reserved only for users who pay a subscription (premium users). By purchasing a subscription or a one off purchase, you agree to be charged according to the terms of the purchase until you cancel your subscription.
We use an external payment provider, Stripe, in order to process payments and subscriptions. You may receive emails from them using the email associated with your account to give you important updates on billing and any changes to your subscription. By making any purchase, you also agree to the terms and conditions set out by Stripe.
Premium users will be charged on a fixed-price, recurring basis for their account, based upon the options that they chose when selecting their plan. We reserve the right to change any prices with a written notice by email to users on that plan at a minimum notice of 1 month prior to the changes.
Premium users who cancel their subscription will lose access to their account at the end of their billing cycle, provided that they cancel in advance of the end of their current billing cycle. If they did not cancel in advance, they will be charged for another cycle and we will not be held liable for any resulting charges. However, if you no longer require the service, please contact us and we may be able to arrange a refund. In the event that we are unable to arrange a refund, we are not liable for any damages caused. Ensure that if you wish to cancel your subscription, you do so in advance of the end of the billing cycle.
If a user completes a purchase of a subscription, they may contact us within 14 days to have the subscription revoked, provided that they have not used premium features within this 14 days.
If a user purchases credits in the app, then they have 14 days to request a refund, provided that their balance remains over the amount that they purchased. Daily credits do not count towards this balance.
Within the app, we use a currency "credits" for the ability to access some services, such as automatic marking on answers using a Large Language Model (LLM). Due to running costs, these are necessary to ensure that all users get fair usage of these models. By submitting community revision questions, a user can earn "bonus credits" which add on top of their daily allowance. They may also buy "bonus credits" from the plans page. Credits have no cash value and cannot be traded or exchanged for money or items of value. We reserve the right to modify this system at any point, with or without notice, so long as credits which are bought by the user prior to this shift are transferred proportionally to the new system. We also reserve the right to add or revoke credits to users at any time and for any reason. A user found in violation of these terms may have credits revoked from them, whereas a user who reports violations or errors within the program may gain credits. This is not guaranteed and should not be used as a way to gain credits.
Some elements of our app contain content generated by users, such as the "community revision questions" feature, that can be shared and displayed to users in different parts of the app. If you intend to generate and upload content, then these terms apply to you.
If you upload content to our website, you acknowledge that we gain a non-exclusive right to display and use this content for as long as your account is active. This means that you can use the content elsewhere as well, and you are still the holder of the intellectual property. Credit will always be given in the form of mentioning your username where this content is used. You may remove or delete this content at any time through the settings page. If you have deleted a question, we are unable to assist with retrieving or restoring this, as it is immediately deleted from our server.
When uploading content, you agree to comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of England & Wales within the UK. Any illegal content or content that could be deemed offensive is not allowed and will be deleted. In cases of repeated offensive content, we have the right to terminate your account.
Do not upload any content that infringes upon copyright, intellectual property, patents or trademarks of other businesses and organisations. We hold no liability for the content that is uploaded by our users and will comply with law enforcement where appropriate.
Administrators of our website will personally review and moderate every piece of user-generated content uploaded to our website. During this moderation process, we will check that it complies with the above guidelines, however, in situations that we moderate incorrectly and any illegal content is published, we take no responsibility for the hosting of this content and will comply with any investigations into the matter. If we moderate incorrectly and legal content is rejected, the user may review and submit the content again. If we delete the content, the user cannot review the content or resubmit this, and the deletion is final. We reserve the right to review or remove any content without notice. You can always check the status of your content through the settings page.
If you, or somebody else, has spotted any illegal or copyright-infringing content in the app, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can remove it.
All brands, logos, code and original study materials are all classified as intellectual property of Matthew Andrews t/a Revision Time unless otherwise specified. You may not copy or modify these or use them outside of the app itself. You may use the study materials in conjunction with other resources in order to make notes or to help you to revise. All brands, logos and code must not be used outside of the app by any unauthorised third parties.
Any part of the app or our services which are considered intellectual property must not be used in any form or shared outside of the application itself. Users or third parties may not obtain data, code or information from the program by any method that could be considered unlawful, excessive or "in bad faith". This includes, but is not limited to, the automated or manual scraping of data, including by large artificial intelligence companies, creating a clone of the service for commercial gain, and using our materials and tools through use of the app for commercial gain (for example, accepting money to sell your classmates notes, and taking these notes from the website). If we discover any infringements of intellectual property, we reserve the right to terminate your account, or in extreme cases, sue any parties involved on grounds of infringement and damage to the brand.
This service is provided "as-is", and without warranties of any kind. If the app goes down, either planned or unplanned, we do not take into account any liability for this. Please contact us to inform us of the problem so that we can ensure that any relevant fixes are made. Nothing in these terms shall affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
All of our tools are designed to help students prepare for UK exams. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that any tools or materials are fully accurate, as they are not firsthand materials prepared by the exam boards. Please use our tools in conjunction with official materials and where differences occur, take the materials from the exam boards as accurate and report this to us so that we can fix the issues. We cannot be held liable for any issues in our exam materials.
Additionally, some tools use Large Language Models (LLM) in order to quickly create feedback on user-generated content, for example, written answers to community revision questions. Automated marking and feedback provided by our LLM tools are for guidance purposes only. We do not guarantee that the marking reflects the official standards of any specific exam board.
Exam results are not guaranteed by use of this app. We strive to help you improve exam results, but in some cases, for any number of reasons, this might not happen. We hold no liability to situations in which the app does not improve exam results, but if you have any feedback on how we could do this better, do not hesitate to contact us.
By signing up for an account, you henceforth agree and our bound by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, do not create an account. If at any time you are found to breach these terms, then we reserve the rights to take action in any way outlined above to create a safe learning environment for others.
